The government has announced a new increase in petroleum product prices across the country.
According to reports by Save our Pak News, the price of petrol has been increased by 6.51 rupees per liter, while diesel has become much more expensive with an increase of 19.39 rupees per liter.
After this increase, the new price of petrol has reached 399.86 rupees per liter, while diesel is now priced at 399.58 rupees per liter.
The new prices will come into effect from midnight.
In addition, the government has reduced the levy on petrol by 3.88 rupees per liter. However, the levy on high-speed diesel has been set at 28.69 rupees per liter. Earlier, there was no levy on diesel.
Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had rejected rumors about a strike by petrol dealers. It said that the news of petrol pumps being closed on social media was false.
OGRA also confirmed that no petroleum association had announced any strike, and the supply of fuel across the country is continuing normally.
The Oil Companies Advisory Council also denied rumors about petrol pump closures. It said that claims about pumps being closed for five days were not true.
According to the council, Pakistan currently has enough fuel reserves, including 28 days of petrol and 34 days of diesel. All petrol pumps will remain open, and fuel supply will continue without any problem.
