Two PAF Pilots Embrace Martyrdom in Trainer Aircraft Crash Near Mardan

A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) training aircraft crashed near Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday during a routine training mission, resulting in the martyrdom of both pilots on board.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the aircraft was conducting a regular training sortie when the accident occurred. The pilots who embraced martyrdom were Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah of the Pakistan Air Force and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy.

The ISPR further stated that Air Headquarters has formed a board of inquiry to investigate the circumstances and determine the cause of the crash.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, along with the Services Chiefs and personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces, expressed profound sorrow over the tragic incident. They extended their heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and paid tribute to their sacrifice in service of the nation.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also conveyed his deep grief over the loss of the two pilots. In his statement, he honoured Flight Lieutenant Qasim and Lieutenant Taha for their dedication and commitment to duty, describing their sacrifice as a symbol of courage, patriotism, and professionalism.

He stated that the nation salutes the bravery of the martyred officers, who laid down their lives while serving Pakistan. The Interior Minister also offered his sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and patience for them during this difficult time.

Additionally, Mohsin Naqvi expressed concern for three individuals who sustained injuries in the incident and prayed for their swift recovery.

The unfortunate crash has saddened the entire nation, with tributes pouring in for the fallen pilots. Their sacrifice serves as a reminder of the unwavering dedication and commitment displayed by Pakistan’s armed forces in the service of the country.
