Brussels (16 July 2025): Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that Pakistan will not sacrifice one friend for another. He was talking to the media in Brussels and explained that Pakistan has a long experience of keeping balance between its ties with China and the United States. He made it clear that Pakistan will not choose one over the other.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also rejected the rumors about any changes in his position. He said these rumors are completely false and are spread by those who are against both the government and the establishment. He added, “God has made me the protector of this country, and I do not wish for any other position. It is our duty to take revenge for the blood of every Pakistani.”
Talking about international matters, the Field Marshal praised Donald Trump’s wish for peace. He said this is why he took the lead in nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. According to him, the rest of the world is now following Pakistan in this decision.
He also gave a strong message to India and Afghanistan. He warned India not to destroy Pakistan’s peace through proxy wars, and he told the Afghan government to stop pushing Taliban fighters into Pakistan.
During his visit to Brussels, overseas Pakistanis welcomed Field Marshal Asim Munir like a war hero. At a special event, he stood for hours meeting Pakistanis who had come from far away. Even when his team advised him that it could create mismanagement, he refused to leave, saying, “How can I break the hearts of people who traveled so far to meet me?” He stayed until the last person had shaken hands with him.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for working with honesty and putting in 18 hours a day during the war. He said that the Prime Minister and his cabinet showed great courage and determination, which deserves respect.
