Karachi (October 2, 2025): In Sindh province, more than 10,000 government teachers were transferred in just a single day.
According to the Sindh Education Department, the transfers were made on the basis of student-teacher ratio, school requirements, and wedlock policy. A notification of these transfers has also been issued by the School Education Department.
As per the notification, a total of 10,490 teachers were transferred to keep the teaching process running smoothly in schools. Because of transfers under the STR system, around 1,320 closed schools will now reopen.
These schools had been shut down earlier due to teachers retiring or passing away. With the new transfers, the shortage of teachers in 1,550 schools will also be resolved. In addition, the number of teachers has been increased in 1,328 single-teacher schools to improve education.
On wedlock grounds, 1,671 teachers were transferred. Among them, the issues of 1,198 female teachers were resolved, while the problems of 473 male teachers were also addressed.
