For the first time, the parents of actress Humaira Asghar have appeared in public and made shocking statements, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Thursday.
In an interview, when asked if Humaira’s death was natural or a murder, her parents expressed suspicion that their daughter was killed.
Dr. Asghar, Humaira’s father, said, “I didn’t go to Karachi myself, but I feel something terrible happened because the body was thrown upside down in a store room. It’s been nine and a half months. How can someone do this to a grown woman? Whoever did this is a cruel person and doesn’t fear God or His Prophet.”
Talking about her death, he strongly rejected the claims that they refused to claim her body. He said, “I sent my son to Karachi so he could receive the body.”
The father also denied rumors about her financial problems. He said, “She was financially stable. My son visited her apartment and found expensive new clothes in her cupboard. She was also working for the welfare of orphan children.”
Her mother also suspected murder, saying her daughter did not die naturally. She claimed it was a planned act: “First, they cut off water and electricity. We don’t know if they tortured her or forced her in some way until she became helpless.”
When asked about neighbors hearing screams, the mother said, “Neighbors have many rights, but nobody tried to check what was happening. People in Karachi are very cold-hearted. God knows what they did to my daughter.”
Background
Actress and model Humaira Asghar, aged 42, was found dead on July 8, 2025, in her rented apartment in DHA Phase 6, Karachi. The discovery happened during an eviction ordered by the court because of unpaid rent.
The body was badly decomposed, suggesting she might have died around October 2024.
Police initially ruled out murder because the apartment was locked from inside and there were no signs of forced entry. Forensic reports are awaited to confirm the cause of death.
According to police, her mobile phone, tablet, and laptop were found, and passwords were noted in her diary. Statements from the building guard, real estate agent, neighbors, and flat owners have been recorded.
So far, one bank account in Humaira’s name has been found with more than 300,000 rupees. Letters have been sent to other banks for more details.
The landlord had filed a legal case for unpaid rent since April 2024. Neighbors reported a bad smell, but a nearby empty apartment caused delays in discovering the body. Locked doors and balcony suggest she was alone when she died.
Humaira’s Life and Career
Born on October 10, 1992, in Lahore, Humaira Asghar Ali was a versatile talent. She graduated from the National College of Arts (NCA) with degrees in Fine Arts, TV, and Film, and later earned an MPhil from Punjab University.
Starting as a model in 2013, she worked with top Pakistani designers before entering acting. Her film roles included Jalebi (2015), and her work in Tamasha Ghar (2022) made her more popular.
Humaira was also a painter, sculptor, and fitness enthusiast, sharing her creative and fitness journey with 715,000 Instagram followers. Her last Instagram post was on September 30, 2024. It showed no signs of stress, but her reduced activity hinted at her stepping away from public life.
