Lahore (October 13, 2025): The Lahore Sessions Court has rejected the bail plea of Khawaja Aqeel alias Gogi Butt in the Amir Balaj murder case.
According to details, Additional and Sessions Judge Najaf Haider heard the bail application filed by Gogi Butt. The accused failed to appear in court after his interim bail expired, and neither he nor his legal representative attended the hearing.
Due to non-appearance and lack of representation, the court dismissed the bail plea. Gogi Butt had earlier sought bail in connection with the murder of Amir Balaj Tipu, and his request had been temporarily accepted until today. Following the court’s decision, Chuhang Police Station now has full authority to arrest Gogi Butt.
It is worth mentioning that Amir Balaj Tipu, son of Lahore’s well-known businessman Tipu Truckanwala, was shot dead during a wedding ceremony on February 18, 2024.
According to Lahore Police, Amir Balaj was attending the wedding of former DSP Akbar Iqbal Bala’s son in a private housing society near Thokar Niaz Baig when an unidentified attacker opened fire. The incident left Amir Balaj and three others injured, who were immediately shifted to a hospital.
Police later confirmed that Amir Balaj succumbed to his injuries, while the attacker was also shot dead on the spot by Balaj’s security guards.
In August 2024, the prime suspect in the murder case, Ahsan Shah, was reportedly killed in a police encounter. Ahsan Shah was a close friend of the slain Amir Balaj but was accused of assisting in his surveillance in coordination with Gogi Butt.
Just last week, another key suspect in the same case, Khawaja Tarif Gulshan alias Taifi Butt Pufte, was also killed in an alleged encounter with the Punjab Police Crime Control Department (CCD).
This recent court decision marks yet another turning point in one of Lahore’s most high-profile murder cases, as authorities continue to pursue the remaining suspects involved in the killing of Amir Balaj Tipu.
