Tel Aviv: Israel’s far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, once again made a harsh statement, saying that he has kept the flotilla members in jail exactly as he promised — “like terrorists.”
According to international media reports, Ben Gvir released a video from Ketziot Prison, where the arrested flotilla activists are being held.
In the video, the Israeli minister called these activists “supporters of terrorists” and said, “As I promised, the flotilla members are now in a security prison, and they are being treated exactly like terrorists.”
Ben Gvir further said that the prisoners are given the same clothes as terrorists and only basic facilities. “This is what I said earlier, and this is exactly what will happen,” he added.
The extremist minister also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that sending these activists back would be a “mistake.” He added, “They should be kept in Israeli jails for a few months. If they are sent back again and again, they will keep coming back.”
It is worth mentioning that on Wednesday night, the Israeli Navy detained about 470 activists traveling on 42 boats that were carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza.
According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, four activists have already been deported, while the rest are still under process for deportation.
