Islamabad (3 December 2025): The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has taken a major step to include persons with disabilities in its support system.
In her special message on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid said that people with disabilities are a valuable and respected part of society. She stated that equal access to education, healthcare, and employment is the basic right of every disabled citizen.
Senator Rubina Khalid added that BISP is actively working, on a priority basis, to support the welfare, assistance, and economic inclusion of disabled individuals. She said that providing them with a safe and dignified environment is a social and moral responsibility.
She further announced that BISP has increased the PMT score limit from 32 to 37 to ensure easier enrollment of disabled persons in the programme.
She said that the commitment remains strong: BISP will continue taking steps for the betterment of all persons with disabilities across the country, without any discrimination.
It is important to note that the Benazir Income Support Programme is a major social welfare initiative that provides financial assistance to poor and deserving families.
The programme aims to reduce poverty, offer financial stability, and empower women. Eligible families receive regular cash assistance under this scheme.
