The government has also taken big steps to completely control the polio virus. Inam-ul-Haq shared that in 2024, all 23 environmental monitoring sites in the province showed the presence of the virus. During the first half of the year, 72% of samples were positive, and in the second half, the figure rose to 98%. In September 2024, the situation was at its worst when 95% of samples tested positive.
He added that the current drop in positive environmental samples is a sign of hope and proof that these efforts are working.
