Big News for the Public: Petrol Prices May Increase in Pakistan

Islamabad – The prices of petrol in Pakistan might go up soon as OGRA has prepared a new summary for the upcoming price change.

According to details, due to uncertainty in the global oil market, there are chances that petrol prices in Pakistan will rise for the first half of November.

Sources said that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed a summary suggesting changes in petroleum prices. This summary will be sent to the Finance Minister on October 31 for review.

After the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Finance Minister will announce the new prices for November 1 to November 15.

At present, the petrol price in Pakistan is Rs. 263.02 per liter, while high-speed diesel is being sold at Rs. 275.42 per liter. Similarly, light-speed diesel is priced at Rs. 159.76 per liter, and kerosene oil costs Rs. 176.81 per liter.

Expected New Prices

Reports suggest that petrol prices may increase by Rs. 2.35 per liter, which could raise the new rate to Rs. 265.37 per liter. Similarly, high-speed diesel might rise by Rs. 2.50 per liter, bringing the new price to Rs. 277.92 per liter.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, international oil prices continued to drop for the third straight day. Brent crude oil decreased by 7 cents, reaching $64.33 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) also fell by 7 cents, trading at $60.08 per barrel.

Analysts believe that the uncertainty in the oil market has grown due to sanctions on Russia and the possibility of OPEC+ increasing oil production, which could impact global oil prices.
