Bilawal Says Pakistan Suffered Because of Indian-Backed Terrorism

PPP Chairman and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if India truly wants more action against terrorism, then it should sit down and talk. He said only by talking can both countries find real and lasting solutions, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Saturday.

While speaking in an interview with Al Jazeera, Bilawal said Pakistan has already taken strong steps against terrorist groups. He said Pakistan is fully involved in international efforts to stop terrorism. “If India wants more action, it should come to the table. We also have many complaints against India because of how it has hurt Pakistan,” he added.

When asked about certain people, Bilawal said, “Hafiz Saeed is not a free man. He is in Pakistan’s custody. About Azhar Masood, we cannot arrest or find him because we believe he is in Afghanistan. If India gives proof that he is in Pakistan, we will arrest him immediately. But India has not shared any proof not with us, their public, or the world.”

He also said that confidence-building steps were already part of past talks between Pakistan and India. Terrorism was one of the main topics in those dialogues.

Bilawal criticized India for trying to set a “new normal” in South Asia through pressure and fights. He said this approach is not only harmful for Pakistan, but also for India in the long run.

He warned that the future of 1.7 billion people in the region should not be placed in the hands of extremists or dangerous actions. He said the threat of war between the two nuclear countries is now more serious than ever before.

Bilawal added that after some terrorist attacks, India didn’t even share any proper proof with its people, with Pakistan, or with the global community. He said Pakistan has faced much more terrorism than India.

He clearly said that future generations should not suffer for what happened in the past. “I don’t think we should blame the children of Pakistan or India for what happened before,” he said. “They should not be punished for the past.”

Bilawal explained that Pakistan has done a lot under the FATF (Financial Action Task Force) process to stop terrorism. He said FATF approved Pakistan’s actions against those terrorists that India was worried about.

He also said that the two recent attacks in India, whether in 2019 or later, were not done by terrorist groups from Pakistan. He claimed they were local (indigenous) attacks inside India.

Bilawal then repeated Pakistan’s long-standing stand on Kashmir, saying, “From Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah till now, Pakistan has always said that Kashmir is part of Pakistan.”

He also spoke out against how Muslims are treated in India. He said they are often wrongly called terrorists just for speaking up for their rights. He said the same thing is happening in Indian-occupied Kashmir, where anyone asking for freedom is called a terrorist.

Bilawal explained that while Pakistan supported some groups during the war in Afghanistan in the 1980s, it never supported such groups in Kashmir. “We have only supported the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, which is clearly allowed by UN resolutions and that is not terrorism,” he said.
