CM Punjab Gifts Neelum Road Project to Lahore Citizens

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given a major gift to the people of Lahore the foundation stone for the construction of Neelum Road has been laid. This new road is part of the Southern Corridor, stretching from LDA City to Pine Avenue. The ceremony was led by Federal Minister Rana Mubashir Iqbal, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel On Monday.

The event was attended by Member Provincial Assembly Rana Rashid Minhas, MPA Mian Imran, and other local PML-N leaders. Chief Engineer of LDA Israr Saeed, Additional DG UP Mudassir Ahmad Shah, and Project Director Usman Nazar gave a complete briefing on the project.

Neelum Road will connect LDA City with Pine Avenue and is being called a game changer for the entire Southern Corridor. The road will be 13.8 kilometers long, starting from Pine Avenue and ending at LDA City. It will greatly improve traffic flow in the area.

The construction of Neelum Road is divided into two parts. Package One includes the section from Pine Avenue to the Railway Line. Package Two covers the stretch from Halloki to Jinnah Sector in LDA City. An underpass will also be built at the railway crossing on Jia Bagga Road.

The new Neelum Road will be a two-way, two-lane road. At the railway crossing, a three-lane underpass will be built to make travel smoother and safer.

According to Federal Minister Rana Mubashir Iqbal, the Neelum Road will serve as a new Southern Corridor for the people of Lahore. It will completely change the look and feel of LDA City and surrounding areas. He also thanked CM Maryam Nawaz for paying attention to this long-standing issue.

He added that this road will benefit hundreds of thousands of vehicles every day. The total cost of the Neelum Road project is Rs. 6.93 billion and it is expected to be completed within six months. This year, LDA will also work on five other important structure plan roads across Lahore.
