U.S. President Donald Trump declared that “today marks a historic morning in the Middle East” during his address to the Israeli Parliament. He urged the people of Gaza to turn their attention toward reconstruction and rebuilding after years of conflict, calling it a new beginning for the region.
Speaking before Israeli lawmakers, Trump reaffirmed that America has always stood by Israel in difficult times. He added that the doors of friendship and cooperation with Iran “remain open,” signaling a hopeful diplomatic approach. He also praised Arab and Muslim countries for their significant role in facilitating the Gaza peace agreement.
Referring to his critics, Trump recalled that Hillary Clinton once said he was a man who starts wars. “In reality,” he said, “I am someone who ends wars.” He proudly mentioned that American hostages had safely returned home during his presidency.
In a personal revelation, Trump shared that his daughter Ivanka had converted to Judaism, which surprised many in the audience.
Trump went on to highlight America’s military strength, saying the U.S. is the leading manufacturer of advanced weapons, though he personally dislikes sending them abroad. He admitted that Israel had received a large number of weapons from the U.S. and jokingly remarked that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sometimes requested weapons “I hadn’t even heard of.”
He reflected on the tragic events of two years ago, saying, “The horrors Jews witnessed on October 7 were among the worst since the Holocaust.” Trump added that “the nightmare that began for Israelis and Palestinians has now ended,” crediting the Israeli Army for defeating what he called “the evil forces in the Middle East.”
During his speech, a brief moment of chaos erupted in the Israeli Parliament when a member attempted to approach the U.S. President. Security personnel swiftly intervened and escorted the lawmaker out. Trump praised the guards for their quick response, saying, “Your alertness and professionalism are commendable.”
