Karachi: The Excise and Taxation Department of Sindh has told the public to quickly replace their old vehicle number plates with the new featured number plates.
According to the report, the Excise and Taxation officials have issued a reminder notice with important instructions. The notice says that people who don’t follow these rules may face strict action.
The notice also explains that all owners of motorcycles, cars, and other private or commercial vehicles across Sindh are reminded once again to replace their old or yellow number plates with the new featured plates by next month.
The department has warned that if these rules are not followed, citizens could face heavy fines under traffic laws. Those who still have not collected their old series plates from the Civic (Suk) Center are advised to collect them as soon as possible. Thank you.
It is worth remembering that last month the Sindh government decided to change vehicle number plates across the province. Under this decision, all vehicle owners were instructed to buy the new plates within a set time.
However, a large number of vehicles are still using the old plates. Deadlines keep passing one after another, and people are being warned about heavy fines and even possible seizure of their vehicles. This sudden change of number plates has turned into an unexpected and troubling decision, especially for Karachi’s citizens.
