Female influencer arrested after announcing dance club in Peshawar

Peshawar (19 January 2026): Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have arrested a female social media influencer who announced plans to open a dance club in Peshawar.

According to Peshawar Police, the woman was taken into custody for allegedly promoting immoral behavior through social media. The arrested influencer, identified as Sonia Shah, wife of Dado Shah, was detained from Gulbahar No. 4, Ijaz Abad.

Police officials stated that the woman claimed in a viral video that she was opening a dance club in Peshawar. The video also contained inappropriate language, which authorities said violated social values and the law.

A case has been registered against the influencer, and an investigation is currently underway. Police said strict action is being taken against individuals involved in spreading obscenity, disorder, and moral corruption.

Police further clarified that senior officials took notice of the matter, after which the woman was arrested with the assistance of female police officers from Gulbahar Police Station for using unethical language on social media.
