In Pakpattan, floods have completely drowned the village Soda. The M-5 Motorway from Multan to Jhangra Interchange is still closed because of floodwater.
The areas near River Chenab and River Sutlej, including Jalalpur Pirwala, are still under water. Work is going on to close the breach at Noraja Bhutta. According to Motorway Police, the Multan to Jhangra part of the M-5 Motorway has been closed for the 13th day. They are waiting for the water to go down to start repairs.
River Sutlej is still cutting land in Pakpattan. Fifty houses in Chak Baqar have also been damaged by erosion.
At Kotri Barrage, there is a medium-level flood in the River Indus. Water level has risen at Thatta-Sujawal bridge, flooding more than 10 villages in the low-lying areas. Standing crops on many acres of land are under water, forcing villagers to move to safety banks.
In Matiari, the low-lying areas are also affected. People are shifting themselves by small boats. In Saeedabad, crops have also been badly damaged due to floodwater.
In Ahmed Pur Sial, the floodwater has started spreading smell and mosquitoes, which can cause diseases. Many houses have been destroyed. Residents say the stagnant water is making the situation worse.
In Arifwala, life has become very difficult in the flood-hit areas of River Sutlej. Many villages are still cut off because roads have been washed away, making travel hard for locals.
