According to details, the ISPR issued a statement confirming that the Field General Court Martial has completed its proceedings against the former officer. The trial began on 12 August 2024 under the Pakistan Army Act and continued for nearly 15 months.
ISPR stated that the court awarded Faiz Hameed a 14-year prison sentence, which will officially take effect from December 2025.
During the investigation, it was proven that Faiz Hameed was involved in political activities and violated the Official Secrets Act. The report also said he misused his authority, used state resources improperly, and caused harm to the public or individuals.
The Field General Court Martial conducted the entire process according to legal requirements. Faiz Hameed was allowed to choose his own defence team, and after lengthy legal proceedings, he was found guilty on all charges.
The ISPR spokesperson added that even after this sentencing, other aspects related to political instability and harmful activities connected to the former general are being examined separately.
