Heavy rains in Gilgit-Baltistan have caused flash floods on Babusar Highway, leading to major destruction and loss of lives, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Tuesday.

According to ARY News, many parts of the country are currently experiencing heavy monsoon rains. These rains have caused urban flooding in cities and dangerous floods in hilly areas.

Our reporter Ghulam Owais from Gilgit-Baltistan said that the flash flood on Babusar Highway has badly damaged the road at several places, forcing authorities to close it for traffic.

The powerful waves of the flood swept away 8 vehicles carrying tourists. Several tourists were also washed away by the strong current.

Rescue teams have recovered 3 bodies so far and rescued 4 injured tourists who were taken to the hospital. One of them is in critical condition.

According to rescue officials, more than 15 tourists are still missing. A large-scale rescue operation is underway to find them. The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan has ordered all possible resources to be used for rescue and relief efforts.

The floods and heavy rains have also disrupted communication systems in the region. Fiber optic lines have been damaged, leaving thousands of tourists stranded on Babusar Highway without contact with their families.

The spokesperson of the Gilgit-Baltistan government said that the local community has provided shelter to hundreds of tourists in their homes.
