Gold Prices Rise for the Third Straight Day in Pakistan — How High Has It Reached?

Karachi (20 February 2026): Gold prices in Pakistan continued to rise for the third consecutive day, with another strong increase recorded today.

According to market details, the rise in international gold prices has directly affected the local market. Both gold and silver prices have shown a clear upward trend across the country.

The price of gold per tola increased by Rs. 2,500, pushing it to Rs. 526,462. At the same time, the price of 10 grams of gold went up by Rs. 2,144, reaching Rs. 451,356.

In the global market, the price of gold per ounce increased by 25 dollars, reaching 5,037 dollars. Meanwhile, silver prices in Pakistan also moved up. The price per tola of silver rose by Rs. 170 and is now being sold at Rs. 8,574.

Experts say that changing global economic conditions and the growing interest of investors in gold are the main reasons behind these price movements. They believe that prices may continue to fluctuate in the coming days.

Gold has always been considered a safe investment. During times of inflation, political tension, or economic uncertainty, people usually turn to gold to protect their wealth. For centuries, gold has been used as a form of currency and a symbol of financial security. When investors feel unsure about other assets, they often choose to invest in gold.

It is important to remember that last year Pakistan changed the method used to set gold prices. Under the new system, local gold prices are fixed at 20 dollars per ounce higher than the international market rate.
