Islamabad: The government has decided not to organize the usual Pakistan Day celebrations on March 23 this year.
According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, this decision was made as part of cost-saving measures. The government announced that the Pakistan Day parade and other related events will not take place.
The statement said that March 23 will still be observed with respect, but in a simple way. Flag-hoisting ceremonies will be held instead of large events. All ministries, departments, and government offices have been instructed to mark the day with simplicity and dignity.
Officials were also told to continue following the government’s policy of reducing expenses while celebrating the day with strong national spirit.
Earlier, the government had also announced that Pakistan Day would be observed in a simple manner at Pakistani embassies around the world.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also shared on X (formerly Twitter) that only limited ceremonies will be held, mainly focusing on traditional flag-hoisting.
He expressed hope that ongoing tensions in the region will be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, and that peace, stability, and prosperity will soon return.
