Saudi Arabia has almost completed its final preparations to welcome millions of pilgrims for Hajj 2026.
In Mecca, authorities are working at full speed to get Mina ready. Mina, also known as the “City of Tents,” is the main place where pilgrims stay during Hajj. This year, several new facilities are being introduced to improve comfort and safety for visitors from around the world.
According to Saudi media reports, all arrangements have now entered the final stage as the arrival of pilgrims is expected very soon.
At the same time, there is good news for thousands of Pakistani pilgrims. Allama Iqbal International Airport has officially been included in the ‘Road to Makkah’ project.
This decision will make the journey much easier for pilgrims, especially those coming from Punjab. A major issue they faced in the past has now been solved.
A key meeting was held at Lahore Airport, led by Saudi Hajj operations director Fawaz Saud Al-Sharifi. During the meeting, detailed information about the project was shared with airport authorities.
Saudi officials confirmed that this year, all immigration procedures for pilgrims traveling from Lahore will be completed in Pakistan before departure.
Under the ‘Road to Makkah’ project, Saudi immigration and customs clearance are done at Pakistani airports by Saudi authorities. This means pilgrims will not need to wait in long lines after arriving in Saudi Arabia.
Instead, they will be able to go directly to their accommodations, making the journey smoother and more comfortable.
