How Much Tax Did Salaried Employees Pay in 3 Months?

Islamabad: In the first three months of the current financial year, salaried employees remained on top of the list of taxpayers by paying a total of 130 billion rupees in taxes.

According to details, the salaried class once again became the leading taxpayer group during the first quarter of this financial year.

Sources said that between July and September, salaried employees paid 130 billion rupees in taxes. This is 20 billion rupees more than the same period of the previous financial year.

In the first three months of the last financial year, the salaried class paid 110 billion rupees in income tax. This year, during the same time, they paid 18% more tax. During the entire previous year, this group had paid a total of 553 billion rupees in taxes.

Sources also shared that from July to September this year, the total revenue shortfall was more than 200 billion rupees. Additionally, due to floods, the government estimated a 70 billion rupee loss in tax revenue.

The FBR’s total revenue collection growth stayed limited to 12.5%. During the same time, income tax grew by 11%, sales tax by 13%, federal excise duty by 26%, and customs duty by 13%.
