How Much Will Milk Cost From October 11? Dairy Farmers Make a Big Claim

The Dairy Farmers Association has said that if the official price notification is not issued by tomorrow, then from October 11, milk will be sold at Rs. 300 per litre.

According to ARY News, the Dairy Farmers Association proposed that the milk price should be fixed between Rs. 270 and Rs. 280 per litre. However, if the government fails to issue the notification by tomorrow, they will start selling milk at Rs. 300 per litre from October 11.

A dairy farmer said that in the past too, they have sold milk at prices they decided themselves. He also mentioned that milk prices have not been increased for the last 15 months, and the commissioner has been delaying the matter for three months.

A few days ago, Sadia Javed, the spokesperson of the Sindh government, spoke on ARY News program Ba Khabar Savera. She said that the price of milk is already more than Rs. 200 per litre in most parts of Pakistan, but the Sindh government wants to keep the current price stable.

She added that the final decision about the new milk prices has not been made yet. Meetings at the commissioner’s office have decided that milk quality will be checked first, and then a final price will be set.

She also mentioned that the Karachi commissioner is in constant contact with the dairy farmers, and a special committee has been formed. Members from different departments are included in this committee to find a solution through negotiations and understanding.
