Karachi: A shocking statement has come from the neighbors of model Humaira Asghar Ali. They said that they often heard screaming from her flat, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Wednesday.
According to details, the investigation is still ongoing after Humaira’s body was found in a flat located in Defence Phase 6, Karachi.
SSP South Mahzoor Ali spoke to ARY News and shared that when police tried to contact the family, they responded by saying they hadn’t been in touch with her. If the family doesn’t take any action, the police will start legal proceedings on their own.
SSP Mahzoor Ali said that Humaira Asghar’s postmortem has been completed. After the chemical examination report comes in, a case will be officially registered by the government.
He added that during their conversations with neighbors, it was revealed that screams were often heard from the flat. It seemed like Humaira was possibly dealing with depression, or there might be some other cause behind her death. However, after checking the crime scene, it looked like her death may have been caused by eating something or a strong reaction.
The SSP said that Humaira had been living in that flat since 2018. Her rental agreement ended in 2019. When she tried to renew it, the landlord refused. As a result, Humaira took the matter to court. Even after that, she kept paying rent to the landlord for several years.
He also shared that in 2024, Humaira stopped paying rent. The landlord again went to court, and the court ordered the flat to be vacated. When the court’s bailiff visited the flat and saw the situation, he told the police to pause any legal action. The bailiff said the flat would be unsealed the next day so the police could proceed with their investigation.
