The head of the Indian Cricket Board, Rajeev Shukla, asked Mohsin Naqvi for the Asia Cup trophy.
According to ARY News, sources say that the Asia Cup trophy was not part of the official ACC meeting agenda. However, Rajeev Shukla insisted on getting the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi.
Sources further revealed that Mohsin Naqvi responded by saying, “If the Indian team wants the trophy, then their captain should come to my office and collect it.”
It is important to note that the Indian cricket team, under pressure from the Modi government, did not receive the trophy even after winning the tournament. Because of this, India is facing heavy criticism not only in the cricket world but also inside their own country.
Now, people are asking one big question: If India didn’t take the trophy, then where exactly is the Asia Cup trophy right now?
ARY News sports reporter Shahid Hashmi answered this in a TV discussion, saying that the Asia Cup trophy is still in Dubai.
Earlier, Indian politician Shashi Tharoor and former captain Kapil Dev also commented on the matter. They said that if India was ready to play against Pakistan, then they should have also shaken hands with them and collected the trophy.
