Kolkata (February 16, 2026): Former Indian cricket captain and ex-BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has made a strong comment about the recent performance of the Pakistan cricket team.
While speaking to Indian media, Ganguly shared his opinion about the historic rivalry between India and Pakistan. He said that matches between the two teams are no longer as big or exciting as they used to be in the past.
Ganguly expressed disappointment over Pakistan’s current form, saying that the team does not show the same strength and confidence that earlier Pakistani sides were known for.
He referred to legendary Pakistani players and said this is not the same team that once featured stars like Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Saeed Anwar, and Inzamam-ul-Haq.
The former Indian captain added that when these great players were part of the squad, India vs Pakistan matches were always intense, high-pressure, and extremely competitive. However, he believes the gap in quality between the two teams has now become clear, reducing the thrill of the contest.
Cricket experts say Ganguly’s remarks highlight the declining performance graph of Pakistan cricket. While the Indian team continues to secure consistent victories, Pakistan’s recent performances—especially in major tournaments—have raised concerns among fans and former players alike.
