Islamabad Becomes Global Peace Hub as US VP J.D. Vance Arrives for Talks

Islamabad has become the center of major global talks as US Vice President J. D. Vance arrived in Pakistan.

On April 11, 2026, the US Vice President reached Islamabad along with a high-level delegation. At the same time, an Iranian delegation led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also arrived in the capital. Both sides are now meeting in Pakistan instead of continuing tensions on the battlefield.

The US delegation includes Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. They were warmly welcomed by Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

Speaking about the talks, J.D. Vance said he is hopeful for positive discussions with Iran. He stated that the US wants peaceful negotiations. He added that if Iran shows sincerity, the US will also respond positively. However, he warned that the US will not show weakness if Iran tries to act unfairly.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump told the media that a strong team has been sent to Islamabad for these talks. He confirmed that meetings between US and Iranian officials will take place in the city.

Trump also repeated that Iran will not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. He claimed that the Strait of Hormuz will soon reopen completely and said there is no need for a backup plan. He also made strong statements about Iran’s military and political situation.

Earlier, when the Iranian delegation arrived in Pakistan, it included Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. They were received by top Pakistani officials, including Asim Munir, Ishaq Dar, Ayaz Sadiq, and Mohsin Naqvi.

Baqer Qalibaf said that Iran has come to Islamabad with positive hopes. He added that if the United States respects Iran’s rights, then reaching an agreement is possible.
