Islamabad’s New Monument Taken Down After Social Media Criticism

The new monument in Islamabad will now only remain a memory, as the administration has started tearing it down after heavy criticism on social media, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Tuesday.

According to ARY News, the monument, which became a hot topic on social media, is now being demolished. Big machines are being used by the administration to break it apart.

This monument was installed by the Islamabad administration at the Margalla Avenue roundabout. It showed two golden-colored human hands holding a white ball-like object on top.

People on social media said, “Soon this monument will only be a memory. But we still don’t know whose idea this was.” For the past few days, social media was full of questions and jokes about this design.

One user asked, “Whose vision was this, sir?” Another user commented that the meaning of this design was that “Pakistan has power in its hands. These hands can be cut but will never bow.”

As soon as the monument was installed, social media started a big debate and a flood of memes appeared. After so much attention, the administration got worried. First, they covered the new monument with cloth, and now they have started demolishing it.

Currently, the structure is being torn down, and people are not allowed to go near it. Still, many are asking why it was built in the first place, and if it was already made, then why was it decided to destroy it?
