Karachi Blues have made history once again by winning the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for the 10th time, defeating Sialkot in the final played in Lahore.
In the championship match, Karachi Blues beat the defending champions Sialkot by 218 runs. Chasing a huge target of 533, Sialkot’s team was bowled out for 314 runs.
Half-centuries by Afzal Manzoor, Abdullah Shafique, and Hamza Nazar were not enough to save Sialkot from defeat.
Karachi’s fast bowler Saqib Khan delivered a brilliant spell, taking five wickets. Mushtaq Ahmed Kulhoro and Rameez Aziz also supported well with two wickets each.
It is worth mentioning that Karachi Blues entered the tournament after playing the qualifier round.
In their second innings, Karachi Blues scored 458 runs, with Haroon Arshad making 116 and Abdullah Fazal scoring 114.
For Sialkot, Usama Mir took five wickets, while Mohammad Hasnain got three, and Hamza Nazar and Hasan Ali took one wicket each.
Earlier in the match, Karachi Blues scored 340 runs in their first innings, while Sialkot managed 266 runs.
On the other side, Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood reached a major milestone by completing 13,000 first-class runs. He achieved this landmark after scoring 76 runs in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final. Shan Masood is now the 31st Pakistani batter to cross 13,000 runs in first-class cricket.
