Lahore: A lion attacked people in Shah Di Khoi, Johar Town. Police have now registered a case and arrested three people, including the lion’s owner, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel On Friday.
According to details, the lion had escaped from a farmhouse and attacked citizens. Police arrested the lion’s owner, Malik Azam alias Shani, along with his son Behram and his brother Malik Nazim.
Wildlife officers took the lion into custody and moved it to a safe location. Malik Azam had hidden the lion at a friend’s farmhouse.
Meanwhile, the police registered an FIR on the complaint of a man named Qaiser Bajwa. The case includes sections from the Wildlife Act, attempted murder, and other serious charges.
Police said Malik Shani had bought the lion two months ago. He did not have any official license to keep it.
Yesterday, the lion jumped over the wall of the farmhouse in Johar Town and came out onto the street. The lion attacked and injured three people, including two children.
Police confirmed that the lion belonged to Azam alias Shani. The animal escaped when its cage door was left open and jumped into the street.
The Wildlife Department said that no one is allowed to keep a lion without a proper license. Keeping a wild animal illegally is a non-bailable crime. The punishment includes up to 7 years in jail and a fine of 5 million rupees.
Later, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident and ordered strict action against those responsible. He stated that no one’s hobby should become a danger to people’s lives.
