The Global Peace Index has released its latest ranking of the world’s safest countries.
According to the report, countries were ranked based on several factors, including low crime rates, a strong legal system, social justice, transparent governance, public trust, and welfare facilities.
For the fifth year in a row, Iceland has secured the No. 1 spot as the safest country in the world. Ireland is ranked second.
In the top five, New Zealand holds third place, Austria is fourth, and Switzerland is fifth.
Following them, Singapore, Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia, and Finland continue on the list, completing the top ten.
Among Muslim countries, Malaysia is the highest-ranked, placed at number 13.
As for South Asia, Pakistan is ranked 144th, while Afghanistan is placed further down at 158th.
The report shows Russia at the very end of the list at 163rd. Israel is positioned at 155th, and India stands at 115th.
