ACC President Mohsin Naqvi has given a strong and clear reply to the letter sent by the BCCI. He said that if India wants the Asia Cup Trophy, then Rajeev Shukla must come to Dubai along with an Indian player or the team captain.
According to reports, letters were exchanged between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The Indian board wrote a letter to Mohsin Naqvi, asking for the Asia Cup trophy to be handed over.
In response, Mohsin Naqvi made it clear that Rajeev Shukla will have to come to Dubai with a player or the captain to collect the trophy.
The ACC also told the BCCI in its reply that if they want the trophy, they should attend the official ceremony where it will be presented. The ACC has proposed that this trophy-giving event will be held in the first week of November.
Mohsin Naqvi added that the Asia Cup trophy ceremony will take place in Dubai. “This trophy belongs to you,” he said, “but Rajeev Shukla must come with a player or captain to receive it.”
It is important to note that the Indian cricket team, under the direction of the Modi government, has not collected the trophy even after winning the tournament. Because of this, India is facing criticism not only from the international cricket community but also from people inside the country.
