After a new order from the President, the Supreme Court registrar has changed the rules (SOPs) about how judges can take leave or travel abroad, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel On Thursday.
As per the updated SOPs, no judge from the Supreme Court can go outside the country without getting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).
The new rules give full power to the CJP to approve or reject any leave request. If needed, the CJP can also call a judge back from leave for the sake of public interest.
The updated guidelines say that all kinds of leave need to be approved in advance and should have a proper reason. Judges must also give their address and phone number during their leave. Only official foreign visits will be allowed to get protocol services from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
