A new chapter of maritime cooperation has started between Pakistan and China as both countries signed an important agreement. Under this deal, the Chinese company Shandong Xinxu will provide investment and ships to the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Thursday.
The signing ceremony took place in Islamabad, where both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement is part of big efforts to modernize Pakistan’s shipping industry and increase sea trade. It will allow cooperation in ship management, marketing, and crew management.
Federal Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry called this agreement the beginning of joint progress. He said that the deal will boost trade, connectivity, and investment in the region. It will help Pakistan’s shipping industry grow and create a friendly environment for foreign investment in the maritime sector. He added that this agreement will make Pakistan’s role stronger in global shipping and attract more investment.
According to the MoU, the Chinese company agreed to provide financial support and ships to PNSC. The deal also includes leasing ships to PNSC under different models. In addition, PNSC can provide commercial, technical, and management services for these ships.
