Pakistan Invites India for Serious Talks Foreign Office Spokesperson

Pakistan has invited India for serious talks, said Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan. He added that now India must decide which policy it wants to follow.

While giving the weekly press briefing in Islamabad, the spokesperson said that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is on a high-level visit to the United States. During this visit, he met the UN Secretary-General and the UN President in separate meetings.

The spokesperson said Ishaq Dar raised the issue of Gaza and Palestine in the UN Security Council. He also joined an open debate on the situation in the Middle East. The spokesperson confirmed that Ishaq Dar is scheduled to meet the US Secretary of State tomorrow.

He added that Pakistan raised its voice on global forums about Jammu & Kashmir and Palestine. Under Pakistan’s presidency, the UN Security Council unanimously approved Resolution 2788. This resolution calls for peaceful solutions to conflicts according to the UN Charter.

The Foreign Minister also condemned attacks on hospitals and schools in Palestinian areas. Pakistan demanded a ceasefire in Gaza, access for humanitarian aid, and emphasized the two-state solution. He said that only an independent Palestinian state can provide a fair solution to the Palestine issue.

Shafqat Ali Khan said Pakistan believes in peaceful diplomacy. Every dispute can be solved through dialogue. Pakistan’s position is based on peace, law, and principles. Diplomacy is not a favor but a way to achieve mutual benefit.

He appreciated the recent efforts of the US to reduce tensions, saying regional stability and global peace are possible only through diplomacy. The spokesperson added that the Foreign Minister chaired a briefing on cooperation at the OIC and UN.

He also said Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan held a trilateral meeting about a railway project. Moreover, political talks between Pakistan and the European Union took place in Brussels.
