Islamabad (October 27, 2025): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) sources have claimed that the party has gained the support of 32 members in the Azad Kashmir Assembly.
The PPP has increased its efforts to form a government in Azad Kashmir. The party is now in contact with more members from the Forward Bloc, PML-N, and PTI to gather additional support.
According to party sources, three PTI members, two from the Forward Bloc, and two from PML-N are currently in touch with PPP. It is expected that two or three more members may announce their support today. For now, the PPP enjoys the backing of 32 assembly members.
Party sources said that the PPP Azad Kashmir leadership has completed its task of bringing in new members. The central leadership has also appreciated the performance of the PPP Azad Kashmir team for their hard work.
According to reports, Chaudhry Riaz was given the responsibility of contacting the Barrister group, while MLAs Chaudhry Qasim Majeed and Faisal Rathore were assigned to handle other outreach tasks. Just yesterday, the PPP received the support of 10 assembly members — six officially joined the party, while four announced their support.
The Barrister Sultan group has joined the PPP conditionally, whereas the Majid Khan group has given unconditional support to the party.
