Prime Minister Launches Ramadan Relief Package 2026 – How Much Cash Will People Receive?

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the Ramadan Relief Package 2026 and announced that every eligible family will receive Rs. 13,000 in financial assistance.

According to details, the Prime Minister inaugurated the relief package worth Rs. 38 billion by pressing a button at the ceremony. The distribution of funds has already started across the country.

Under this package, cash payments will be transferred to the accounts of 12.1 million deserving families nationwide. The funds will be sent through digital wallets and bank accounts to ensure a smooth and transparent process.

While addressing the ceremony, Shehbaz Sharif said that the Rs. 38 billion relief fund will be distributed to eligible citizens in the federal capital, all four provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

He added that during the holy month of Ramadan, each deserving family will receive Rs. 13,000 without discrimination. More than 2.1 million families who are not part of any government support program will also benefit from this package.

In addition, Rs. 10 billion has been allocated for the one crore families who are already registered under existing welfare programs. In total, 12.1 million families will receive financial assistance.

The Prime Minister further stated that around 60 million people are expected to benefit from the Ramadan package. Payments will be made directly through bank accounts and digital wallets to maintain transparency.

Shehbaz Sharif also announced that the old system of distributing goods through Utility Stores has been ended. He said the previous system had poor quality control and forced people to stand in long lines.

A high-level committee of federal ministers will monitor the implementation of the Ramadan package. To address public complaints quickly, a helpline (9999) has also been set up.

Speaking at the event, BISP Secretary Aamir Ali shared further details about the relief program. He said that under the Prime Minister’s special instructions, this year’s package has been designed to provide respectful and transparent financial support to low-income families.

He added that in 2025, each deserving family received Rs. 5,000 under the Ramadan package. However, on the Prime Minister’s direction, the amount has been increased to Rs. 13,000 for 2026.
