Punjab Land Record Authority Solves a Major Problem for Overseas Pakistanis

Lahore (November 7, 2025): The Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) has introduced a new and easy way for overseas Pakistanis to get stamp papers without needing a SIM card.

Earlier, the Government of Punjab made it necessary to have a registered SIM card to receive an OTP (one-time password) while applying for stamp papers. Because of this rule, many overseas Pakistanis faced problems since they did not have local SIM cards.

According to media reports, a big change has now been made. The condition of having a registered SIM card has been removed. Now, overseas Pakistanis can receive their OTP through email to get stamp papers.

Under the new policy, Pakistanis living abroad will no longer need a local SIM card. They can get OTPs by email for services like stamp papers and powers of attorney, making it easier to complete legal work from anywhere in the world.

A spokesperson for PLRA said that this email OTP system was specially designed for overseas Pakistanis.

This new system will make it much easier for overseas Pakistanis to get stamp papers, powers of attorney, and other legal documents without any trouble.

Through this digital system, PLRA aims to provide better access and faster services so overseas Pakistanis can manage their property and legal matters easily and quickly.
