Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has warned that thunderstorms and rain will continue in many parts of the country until Tuesday. People have been advised to stay careful during this period.
According to reports, bad weather may affect several regions, including the Eastern Province, Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Hail, Al-Qassim, and Riyadh.
Weather experts have also issued alerts for western and southern mountainous areas such as Medina, Mecca, Al Baha, Asir, and Jazan, where heavy rain and storms are expected.
In Tabuk and Najran, light to moderate storms are likely. Fog during the night and early morning hours may also reduce visibility in many areas.
The National Center for Meteorology reported that the current spell of rain started on April 20. Due to continuous rainfall, some low-lying areas have already faced local flooding. In Riyadh and the Eastern Province, strong dusty winds before the rain have also reduced visibility.
The Civil Defense has asked both citizens and residents to stay in safe places during this weather. People are strongly advised to avoid flood areas, valleys, and streams, and not to go swimming under any circumstances.
