A decision has been made to pay salaries to the members of the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies who were recently reinstated. According to parliamentary sources, 19 members will be given their basic salaries from May 13, 2024, until the date of the court decision. However, they will not receive TA/DA or other allowances, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Monday.
Each National Assembly member will get Rs. 150,000 as basic monthly salary for the period from May 13, 2024, to December 31, 2024. From January 1, 2025, until the court’s verdict, their salary will be paid according to the new, increased rates.
In total, 22 National Assembly members were suspended, out of which 19 have now been reinstated and officially notified. Members of provincial assemblies, about 55 in total, will also receive their basic salaries based on the rules of their respective assemblies.
It’s important to note that 77 members were suspended on May 13, 2024, and as soon as the suspension notification was issued, their salaries were stopped. Now, after reinstatement, their pay for the suspension period will be processed.
