T20 World Cup: What restriction will Indian cricketers face?

Mumbai: During the ICC T20 World Cup, Indian cricketers will not be allowed to keep their families with them, as the decision has been upheld by the authorities.

According to Indian media reports, the Indian team management contacted the cricket board to request permission for players’ families to stay with the squad. However, the board clarified that squad members are not allowed to have their families with them during the tournament.

The Indian board informed team management that players’ families cannot stay alongside the team. If players wish, they may arrange separate accommodations for their families at their own expense.

Reports further state that during overseas tours lasting more than 45 days, Indian players are usually allowed to stay with their families for a maximum of 14 days. However, this permission has not been granted for the ongoing T20 World Cup.

According to reports, the Indian team will play three group-stage matches of the T20 World Cup in India. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for February 15 in Colombo.

It is important to note that even before the T20 World Cup, Indian cricketers were not allowed to keep their families with them during a bilateral series.
