A respectful state funeral ceremony was held in Iran for around 60 people who were martyred in the war with Israel. The martyrs included senior military commanders, nuclear scientists, and other citizens, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel On Saturday.
The funeral event began early in the morning at 8 AM at Enghelab (Revolution) Square in Tehran. From there, a long funeral procession moved toward Azadi (Freedom) Square, covering almost 11 kilometers.
According to Mohsen Mahmoudi, the head of Tehran’s Islamic Development Coordination Council, “This will be remembered as a historic day for Islamic Iran and the Revolution.”
Among those martyred in the Israeli attacks was Mohammad Bagheri, a Major General in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces. He will be buried alongside his wife and daughter, who was a journalist for a local media outlet. All three lost their lives in the same attack.
Nuclear scientist Mohammad Mahdi Tehrani will also be laid to rest with his wife. Commander Hossein Salami of the Revolutionary Guards, who died on the first day of the war, will be buried after the Saturday ceremony.
The ceremony also honored at least 30 other high-ranking commanders for their sacrifices. Among the 60 martyrs were four children, who will be buried after the main funeral ceremony.
