The Easy Way to Transfer Your Car Ownership From Home

Islamabad (20 November 2025): NADRA has made life much easier for citizens by launching a feature that lets you transfer your Islamabad-registered car to someone else right from home, using the Pak-ID mobile app.

If you want to transfer your vehicle to another person, the biometric verification process has now become very simple. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you complete the ownership transfer without visiting any office.

Step-by-step process to transfer your car ownership

1. Download the Pak-ID app on your mobile phone, create your account, and log in.
   
2. On the home screen, tap Apply Digital Cards, then select ICT Vehicle. You will see a list of all vehicles registered under your name.
   
3. Choose the car you want to transfer and click Transfer Now, then select Verify Applicant Facial.
   
4. Choose either the Front Camera or Back Camera and make sure your face stays inside the round frame on the screen.
   
5. After capturing your photo, tap Apply, then select Verify Applicant Fingerprint to confirm your biometrics.
   
6. Follow the instructions to verify your fingerprints. Once done, the Application Details page will appear.
   
7. Enter the buyer’s CNIC number and choose Executive under the Application Processing Category. The fee will also be shown here.
   
8. After checking all details, press Submit Application. A Tracking ID and PIN Code will appear in your Applications section — share both with the buyer.
   
9. The buyer must log in to their Pak-ID app, go to Govt Services, select Vehicle Transfer, enter the Tracking ID and PIN Code, and tap Get Details.
   
10. After reviewing the details, the buyer will also complete facial and fingerprint verification, then tap Done. The status on the seller’s app will update automatically.
    
11. If the application is approved, the Pay Now option will appear next to your Tracking ID. You can pay the fee through EasyPaisa, Raast, E-Sahulat, JazzCash, or any debit/credit card.
    
12. After payment, go to ID Vault to download the biometric receipt. It will be saved in the My Documents → Vehicle Transfer folder inside the app.
    
13. The buyer must take this biometric receipt along with other required documents to the Excise and Taxation Office, Islamabad to complete the final car transfer process.
