In the final match of the Tri-Nation T20 Series, Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first against Sri Lanka.
The match is being played in Rawalpindi, where captain Salman Ali Agha chose to bowl and invited Dasun Shanaka’s team to bat first.
Pakistan made one change in the playing XI: Shaheen Afridi has returned to the squad in place of Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Speaking at the toss, captain Salman Ali Agha said that even though the pitch is not the usual one, he still expects a good scoring game. He believes the pitch might produce 170 to 180 runs, and the team will try to give its 100% effort.
He added that Pakistan wins most games when they perform well in the powerplay, so the goal is to start strong and build momentum early.
Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka said it is a big match and his team is fully prepared. According to him, a score between 160 and 170 would be competitive on this pitch. Sri Lanka made no changes to their team.
He also praised Pakistan’s security arrangements, saying they are excellent.
