U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that there is a “high chance” of a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping later this year, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Saturday.
On Friday, Marco Rubio met his Chinese counterpart in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After the meeting, he told reporters that there is a good possibility that the two leaders may meet soon.
He described the discussion as positive and constructive. Rubio said, “It was a good meeting, but there’s still a lot of work to do. There are areas where the U.S. and China can work together. We are both big and powerful countries, and it’s normal to have disagreements.”
During the press talk, Marco Rubio also said that President Trump might visit China to meet President Xi. He admitted that there are many challenges, but both sides want to find solutions.
It is worth noting that this meeting happened during the ASEAN Regional Forum. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed many topics including trade, security, and China’s support for Russia in the Russia-Ukraine war.
