US President Donald Trump has said that Field Marshal Asim Munir is the most powerful person in Pakistan. He described him as a man with great influence and strong leadership, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel On Thursday.
While talking to reporters after a special lunch he hosted at the White House in honor of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Trump praised him for playing a big role in stopping the war between India and Pakistan.
President Trump also shared that both countries are now working on a possible trade deal. He repeated that it was he who helped stop the conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
He called the leaders of both India and Pakistan “smart” and said he had also spoken with Asim Munir about the ongoing war between Israel and Iran.
Trump mentioned that Pakistan understands Iran better than most countries and isn’t happy with the current situation. He said clearly, “I love Pakistan.”
Trump further said that America does not want to go into war with Iran, but he believes the time for peaceful talks is over.
He stated again that Iran must not be allowed to get nuclear weapons. “Before the Israel war started, Iran was only weeks away from becoming a nuclear power,” Trump said. He also added, “The US does not want this war to end without Israel winning clearly.”
Field Marshal Asim Munir, while speaking at the lunch, thanked President Trump on behalf of the Pakistani people for his role in helping achieve a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
He also praised Trump’s leadership and his deep understanding of world affairs.
According to sources, President Trump appreciated Pakistan’s help in the fight against terrorism and its efforts to bring peace to the region.
Both leaders agreed to keep working together to eliminate terrorism completely.
They also talked about increasing trade between Pakistan and the US especially in areas like minerals, IT, energy, cryptocurrency, and more.
As per ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir invited President Trump to visit Pakistan in the future.
From Pakistan’s side, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi was present, while on the US side, Secretary of State Marco Rubio also attended the meeting.
