New York (24 September 2025): A strange incident happened with U.S. President Donald Trump at the United Nations, giving him another chance to criticize the UN.
According to details, both the UN escalator and the teleprompter stopped working right when it was President Trump’s turn. He looked around, not knowing what to do for a moment.
On Tuesday morning, President Trump arrived at the United Nations Headquarters in Manhattan along with U.S. First Lady Melania Trump. As they stepped on the escalator with their staff to go to the upper floor, the escalator suddenly stopped. Trump and Melania had to walk up the stairs instead.
Later, when President Trump reached the stage of the General Assembly to deliver his speech, the teleprompter in front of him also stopped working. Laughing, Trump said, “Whoever is running this teleprompter is in trouble!”
During his speech, Trump criticized the United Nations, saying, “All I found here was a broken escalator. If the First Lady was not in good health, she could have fallen.”
