Tehran (February 28, 2026): Iran has officially announced a strong response after joint air strikes were carried out by the United States and Israel.
The head of Iran’s Parliamentary National Security Commission, Ebrahim Azizi, reacted strongly to the attacks and warned that the situation could now move beyond control.
In a statement shared on social media, Azizi directly addressed the attackers and said, “We had already warned you.” He added that by taking this step, they have entered a path whose consequences are no longer in their control.
Meanwhile, speaking to the international news agency Reuters, a senior Iranian official confirmed that Tehran is preparing a full and powerful response to the recent strikes.
The Iranian official stated that the aggression by the United States and Israel would be answered with a very harsh and crushing retaliation. He said Iran will not tolerate any attack on its sovereignty and that all necessary measures are being taken to respond.
It is important to note that Israel, along with the United States, launched the attack on Iran. According to international media reports quoting Iranian officials, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was not present in Tehran at the time of the strikes. He had reportedly been moved earlier to a highly secure and undisclosed location.
On the other hand, Israeli media has claimed that a very senior Iranian government official may have been targeted during the operation. An Israeli newspaper reported that the date and plan for the large-scale strike on Iran had been decided several weeks earlier.
According to Al Jazeera, loud explosions were heard not only in Tehran but also in other Iranian cities including Isfahan, Kermanshah, and Qom. After the attacks, mobile phone services were disrupted in some parts of Tehran, and internet speeds dropped significantly, causing communication problems across affected areas.
