A 60-year-old woman in Egypt is facing a painful life after a surgery that caused her weight to rise up to 400 kilograms. After this surgery, she has become paralyzed and cannot move anymore, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel On Thursday.
Her name is Hajjan Fatima. For the last 15 years, she has been crushed under her own body weight. She lives in a neighborhood of the Egyptian city “Al-Ashir min Ramadan.” She is not only trapped inside her home, but also stuck in one corner of a room, unable to come out.
Because of her extreme 400 kg weight, Fatima is living a life like a prisoner. She can’t move, can’t see the streets, and doesn’t even get sunlight anymore. But once, she was a very active housewife who used to take care of her family of seven.
Now, it has been over 15 years since she last stepped out of her home. Her obesity has taken away her strength. She can’t move her arms or even change her position. She eats, bathes, and sleeps in the same spot. This has caused her to develop bed sores, and she is now suffering from depression too.
According to Al Arabiya News, her daughter shared that her mother’s problems started around 20 years ago. At that time, Fatima weighed around 200 kg and was still able to do housework. But later, she decided to go through stomach surgery to lose weight and improve her health.
After the surgery, her weight started to drop, but soon complications began. The doctors found that the surgery had failed. Three months later, she started to suffer from internal bleeding, and her weight began to rise rapidly reaching 400 kg. Her daughter says that doctors are now suggesting another surgery.
Fatima has one wish. She said, “I just want to move again, do my own work, and be able to stand before God and bow in prayer.”
Her family is requesting help from kind-hearted people for her treatment. It is also being said that taking her to the hospital might not be possible without a crane.
