What Is Saudi Arabia Planning for the Deportation of Illegal Residents?

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Acting Director General of Passports (Jawazat), Major General Saleh, has announced that the department is about to launch a new digital system called the “Self-Deportation Platform.” This system will help speed up the deportation of illegal residents in the country — reported by Save Our Pak.

According to Saudi news sources, Major General Saleh said that this new platform will replace the old, traditional methods used to deport people who violated residency, labor, or border laws. Once all the security, technical, and operational details are finalized, the platform will officially be launched.

He explained that the Self-Deportation Platform will allow illegal residents to access the service themselves and complete their travel and departure process online without complications.

He also revealed that the Jawazat Department will soon introduce a smart tracking system for travelers. This new system will let travelers move smoothly through checkpoints, where smart cameras will automatically verify their identity.

These cameras will be able to identify up to 35 people at the same time, allowing the verification process to be completed without passengers having to talk to passport officers.

Major General Saleh added that the new process will make departures much easier and faster. It will remove the need for travelers to wait at passport control counters in departure lounges.

While talking about the digital progress of the Ministry of Interior, he said that anyone visiting Saudi Arabia can easily see the technological improvements made in the passport system.

He also mentioned that the goal of Jawazat’s long-term strategy is to transform all Saudi ports and airports into smart gateways, where technology will handle most of the procedures automatically.
